Landslides, flooding and damaging winds wrought by Cyclone Harry brought Southern Italy to its knees, but relief workers, residents, charities and donors are lifting up our proud homeland.

To our members and supporters:

In under a week, Cyclone Harry tore through centuries-old villages and towns in Southern Italy, sweeping away homes and livelihoods. Many in the Italian Diaspora claim Calabria, Sardinia, or Sicily as their ancestral home, and many of us have family members in need in the wake of the devastation. With a massive relief effort underway, let’s donate today and help rebuild — knowing our people, they’ll get back up and do just that.

$100,000 Raised So Far!

We have received two major donations:

  • $75,000, in the name of the Italian Sons and Daughters of America (ISDA)
  • $25,000, in the name of the Conference of Presidents of Major Italian American Organizations (COPOMIAO)

Goal: $125,000 (100% of Donations Go to Relief)

Please join us in assisting our deeply affected paesani with your donations, so we can hit — or exceed — our overall goal of $125,000. One hundred percent of all funds raised will go directly toward disaster relief efforts recommended by Italian government officials.

Donation payment options are listed here:

Debit or Credit Card: COPOMIAO has set up a verified PayPal Giving Fund account to collect donations online. The benefit of this PayPal account is that all 2.9% transaction fees are waived for donors.

Pay by Check: Please make checks payable to COPOMIAO, Inc. and send to our Secretary:

Rosemary DeLuca
1296 Midland Ave.
Apt. F2
Yonkers, NY 10704

If possible, please submit your donations by March 1. Ms. DeLuca and COPOMIAO Treasurer Santi Buscemi will consolidate all contributions, after which a single check will be delivered to the designated relief effort, accompanied by a list of all participating donors.

We are stronger together. And together, we are COPOMIAO.

Thank you for your support!

Respectfully,

Basil M. Russo
President, COPOMIAO
